Claudio Cimminiello
Dr Cimminiello is a clinician involved in the field of Internal Medicine and since 1999 has been Director of the Internal Medicine Department at Vimercate Hospital in Milan, Italy, where he also coordinates the Oncology Unit. He obtained his degree in Medicine in 1976 from Milan University, and is now a specialist in Haematology and Gastroenterology. Dr Cimminiello was formerly a staff member in the Department of Medicine at San Carlo Borromeo Hospital in Milan, where he was also responsible for the Vascular and Thrombotic Pathology Center. His fields of interest are arterial and venous thrombosis, in which he conducts both clinical and basic research.
Dr Cimminiello has published more than 120 original articles and reviews, and has served as referee for several international scientific journals. He is a member of the scientific boards and committees for drafting national guidelines, and is currently a member of the steering committees of both national and international clinical studies and registries.
